1.Material Introduction
AISI 4145H is a chromium molybdenum quality alloy steel specification. As a high tensile steel grade AISI 4145H is primarily supplied in the hardened and tempered condition to 30-36HRc range to AISI 4145H modified. With a slightly higher carbon content AISI 4145H is similar to AISI 4140 in that it offers good ductility, shock resisting characteristics combined with resistance to wear.

2.Application
AISI 4145 is more popular in larger diameters due to its increased strength and hardenability. It is commonly used in the down hole drilling tools such as drill collars. Other applications include components exposed to heavy strain, such as shafts, gear, bolts etc. AISI 4145H can also be used in hardened condition as machine parts exposed to heavy wear.
